Quick, professional whitening at the clinic with the help of the Beyond system.
The use of Beyond Polus technology makes it possible to whiten teeth by several shades in one procedure with minimal risk of increasing the sensitivity of teeth and surrounding tissues.
STAGES OF TREATMENT
The teeth whitening has become quite popular procedure in dentistry. This is due to the fact that pearly white teeth are now taken as one of the most important indicators of health, success and aesthetic appearance. Over time, teeth lose their whiteness for various reasons. This is caused by the following factors:
- - dietary habits, such as excessive consumption of foods containing pigments and dyes (wine, coffee, tea, juices),
- - natural age-related changes,
- - genetics,
- - smoking, consequences of endodontic treatment,
- - tooth injuries and others.
Now you can choose the whitening option that suits each case the best. There are professional and home teeth whitening methods.
The cost of teeth whitening depends on the technology, the equipment at the clinic, as well as the experience of the dentist.
Professional teeth whitening at the Porcelain Dental Clinic
In-office teeth whitening is performed in the dentist’s office.
This whitening method is as follows: a whitening gel, based on 35 % hydrogen peroxide or peroxide which breaks down with the formation of active radicals, is applied to the surface of the teeth. Penetrating into the surface layers of the tooth, radicals change the structure of the pigments which determine certain shades of the tooth. As a result, the visual whitening effect is achieved. In this case, the gel works with the help of catalysts — ultraviolet or laser.
The most effective and safest is the Beyond Polus photo-whitening procedure. For 10 years in a row, experts have recognized this method as the best one. Light of the blue spectrum is used as a catalyst for a chemical reaction. This is the so-called cold light, the wavelength of which is 480-520 nanometers — the optimal wavelength to achieve the desired result.
Preparation for teeth whitening
Before the procedure, it is necessary to treat caries and other diseases related to the teeth and gums, including inflammatory ones, remove plaque and dental deposits. The patient is told that crowns, veneers and composite filling materials are not whitened, so they might to be replaced.
Whitening methods
The Beyond Polus Teeth Whitening System has three modes of use: gentle, normal and intense, which ensures the comfort and painlessness of the procedure for each patient. In comparison with other systems, including a laser, the Beyond lamp generates a minimal amount of heat. That’s why the teeth do not overheat and the enamel is not damaged.
Gentle light intensity is used for patients with highly sensitive teeth and visible enamel defects, such as small cracks or chips.
Normal intensity is recommended for patients with healthy yellowish enamel, caused by consumption of staining food, drinks and smoking.
High intensity is used for patients with tetracycline stains and greyish age-related discolouration.
Advantages of Beyond Polus
- - absolute safety for teeth
- - painlessness during and after the procedure
- - procedure duration of 60-90 minutes, including preparation, gel application and all whitening cycles.
- - whitening by 3-4 tones at a time
Stages of in-office teeth whitening
After an initial consultation with a dentist on in-office teeth whitening and appropriate preparation, the whitening procedure is performed in accordance with a specific protocol:
- 1. Professional hygiene — teeth cleaning using ultrasound, Air-Flow and other mechanical cleaning methods to remove plaque and dental deposits.
- 2. Determination and fixation of the original tooth shade according to a special VITA scale using a photo. Determination of the shade desired by the patient. The proposed shade guide can contain 12 or more options.
- 3. Eye protection. Sunglasses are used for this.
- 4. Protection of the gums, lips and oral cavity. A protective cream is applied to the lips, and a Beyond Flexi Blue retractor is installed in the oral cavity. To protect the oral mucosa, a liquid rubber dam is applied to the surface of a dry gum and polymerized using a special lamp.
- 5. The use of a whitening gel. The visible part of the teeth is evenly covered with a 2-3 mm thick photosensitive gel, which is activated with a lamp for 12 minutes. Then it is carefully removed. This cycle is repeated 2 more times. After the final cycle, the remaining gel is washed off with water.
- 6. After the whitening process, a fluoridizer is applied to the teeth to reduce possible tooth sensitivity and strengthen the enamel.
- 7. If the patient wishes to maintain the effect, it is possible to produce individual mouth guards for home use.
With discolouration of certain teeth, it is possible to whiten them individually using the Spot Whitening mode, which is also part of the Beyond Polus system. Then the protective and whitening gels are applied only on the tooth which needs to be whitened and the adjacent teeth.
How to take care of your teeth after the procedure
The surface of the tooth absorbs dyes as much as possible after the procedure, so a strict “white” diet is recommended for 24 hours. Then you should follow certain dietary rules for two weeks and try to quit smoking. In this case, you will have a beautiful smile for a long time.
Depending on the diet, oral hygiene and smoking intensity, periodic corrective procedures might be needed to maintain results.
Professional oral hygiene should be performed twice a year.

Regular cleaning of teeth is a compulsory procedure for children, which will help remove plaque and avoid serious diseases of the oral cavity.
This is an option if the enamel on your teeth is very sensitive, but whitening is desirable and even necessary.
Even if you brush your teeth in the morning and evening plaque forms on them, which can only be removed with the help of professional cleaning with special solutions. It is important to remember that every 6 months hygienic cleaning of your teeth must be repeated.
Professional dental care makes it possible to cope with tasks that are unsolvable at home. Even when there are no noticeable deposits of dental calculus, persistent plaque and pigmentation impossible to remove with a toothbrush and dental floss may develop on enamel and cervical line. Sometimes such build-ups are hard to notice on your own, but they are known to harm the enamel and periodontium.
Ultrasonic teeth cleaning is used to remove caked plaque (dental calculus), as well as a prepping procedure for other professional dental procedures. An ultrasonic wave makes it possible to remove all caked deposits quickly, without injuries to the gums and enamel, which sometimes cannot be achieved with the help of mechanical or dry cleaning.
